In late November,2009
, we had a campaign outside the city of Hadero in Ethiopia.
It was held in a well populated area in the middle of the bush and it was the first time a campaign was held here. We've got to experience God's immense love for these people.
We had a team with us, 20 persons, from Sweden and Canada and we worked together with Per Åkvist and Joshua Campaign-team. Some of the team-members went to Hadero a few days earlier to prepare. They wore campaign posters to welcome people to the meetings and they were wild preaching and welcoming people to come.
The expectation has been great! 10-thousands of people have gathered to listen to the gospel. People literally snatched the kingdom of heaven! They were packed close together and listened with great attention. I am fascinated by the power found in the Gospel! It works in all countries and cultures.
There were thousands of voices cried out to God for purification in the blood of Jesus and a new life. It is all about; this showing peoples the cross of Jesus.
Saturday evening, we heard of an amazing miracle in a man's life. For five years he had been in darkness and humiliation. Periodically he had been so wild and aggressive; he had to stay out in the wilderness. His family took him to a meeting of the campaign tied to a donkey-cart. On Saturday night he stood on stage and told that the light had come into his life and he had been totally set free! His eyes beamed with peace and purity! When I looked at him I felt like the happiest man on earth, and that it’s worth everything, even strenuous travel, primitive and poor housing and little sleep. That doesn’t mean anything in comparison to see Jesus transform lives!
There was a 22-year-old woman who sat in a wheelchair since the age of ten because she was lame. Her parents had to carry her everywhere and help her in everything. She got on Saturday’s meeting to experience a miracle of God in her body! She stood straight up in the wheelchair! Her father stood and cried out his joy while his girl was walking around! Jubilation knew no bounds among the people!
We had a leadership seminar during the days where about 900 pastors and leaders attended. There was a strong outpouring of the Spirit of God during these five gatherings.
The team was out all days in the villages and market places. It was everywhere lot of people who listened. Several hundreds answered to the invitation of salvation! Miracles and wonders were happening when the team laid their hands on sick people! It is wonderful to see young people preach and pray for the sick with tears in their eyes and see their passion. They are the future of Sweden.
